- All locations listedEvery shop, godown and factory address must be in the policy schedule.
- Bank clauseIf assets are hypothecated to a bank, its interest must be noted correctly in the policy.
- Add-on perilsCheck that earthquake, terrorism or burglary are covered if your business needs them.
- Employee numbers & wagesDeclare accurate headcount and wages for WC and group policies.

Business Insurance Questions, Answered
I have a small shop. Do I really need insurance?
Yes. A small shop often has most of the owner's capital tied up in stock and fittings. A shopkeeper's package policy is affordable and protects against fire, burglary and floods, which can otherwise close a business permanently.
My bank already insured my stock. Is that enough?
Bank-arranged policies often cover only the hypothecated value and may miss perils, locations or stock above the loan amount. We can review the policy to check whether it protects your full business value.
Is Workmen's Compensation insurance compulsory?
Employers are legally liable to compensate workers for injuries at work under the Employees' Compensation Act. Insurance is the practical way to meet this liability, and many contracts and principal employers require it.
Can I cover employees' health under my business?
Yes. Group health policies can be bought for businesses with even a small number of employees (minimum group size depends on the insurer), and usually come without the waiting periods of individual policies.
What is under-insurance and why does it matter?
If your property is insured for less than its actual value, the insurer may apply the "average clause" and pay only a proportion of the loss. For example, insuring stock worth ₹20 lakh for ₹10 lakh could mean only half of a claim is paid.
Do I need cyber insurance for a small business?
If you store customer data, use online banking heavily or accept digital payments, cyber risks are real even for small businesses. Cyber policies help with incident response, data recovery and certain fraud losses, subject to policy terms.
