Your options

Interest is added back to your deposit and paid with the principal at maturity. Suits money you don't need for a while.
Regular payout
Interest is paid monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, as offered. Suits regular income needs.
Senior citizens
Many issuers pay a slightly higher rate to senior citizens. Check the rate shown before you book.

Before you invest
Keep your deposits safe
Corporate FDs are not insured
If a company can't repay, you may lose part or all of your deposit and interest. A good credit rating lowers this risk but doesn't remove it, and ratings can be downgraded.
Spread your money
Don't put all your savings with one company. Split large amounts across issuers.
Stay within the cover
In bank FDs, DICGC cover is up to ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank, including interest.
Plan your tenure
Choose a tenure you can stay with. Breaking an FD early usually means a lower rate.
Interest is taxable
FD interest is added to your income and taxed at your slab rate. TDS may be deducted above the threshold.
Avoid unusually high rates
Deposit schemes offering rates far above the market are a red flag. Report suspicious schemes on RBI's Sachet portal (opens in a new tab).
Watch for maturity
Keep your mobile and email updated so you get the maturity notice and can decide whether to renew.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is a corporate FD safe?
It depends on the company's ability to repay. Corporate FDs are not covered by deposit insurance, so check the credit rating and spread your money across issuers.
How much of my bank FD is insured?
DICGC insures up to ₹5 lakh per depositor per bank, covering principal and interest together. Deposits with different banks are covered separately.
Can I withdraw a corporate FD early?
In the first 3 months, RBI rules allow only limited withdrawals without interest: the full amount for deposits up to ₹10,000, otherwise up to half the principal or ₹5 lakh, whichever is lower. The full principal can be withdrawn in case of critical illness. After 3 months, early withdrawal is as per the company's terms, usually at a lower rate.
Will TDS be deducted on my FD interest?
Yes, if your interest is above the threshold set under income-tax law. If your total income is below the taxable limit, you may submit a self-declaration to the issuer to avoid TDS, if eligible.
What are the current interest rates?
Rates change often and differ by issuer, tenure and age. The current rates are shown on FundzBazar when you book, or ask us on WhatsApp.
What happens at maturity?
The amount is paid to your bank account, or renewed if you chose auto-renewal. Corporate deposit issuers send a maturity notice in advance.
